We are excited to announce our partnership with the Save Your Skin Foundation. Together, we aim to assist underprivileged cancer patients in securing accommodations during their treatment.

Save Your Skin Foundation: 

Save Your Skin Foundation is a national patient-led not-for-profit group dedicated to the fight against non-melanoma skin cancers, melanoma and ocular melanoma through nationwide education, advocacy, and awareness initiatives. Their site offers:

• Patient information on diagnosis and treatment options, including clinical trials
• 1-800 telephone hotline for immediate assistance
• Monthly Patient Fireside Chats
• Webinars and video resources
• Emotional and mental wellness resources
• Personal 1-on-1 support for those touched by cancer
• Resources for children and their caretakers
• Resources to empower and educate hairstylists and barbers to detect suspicious skin lesions.
• Information and support for those with ocular melanoma
• The I’m Living Proof initiative, offering peer-to-peer support
• Links to dermatologist/clinic locators

At Dr. Roy Cancer Journey, we are deeply committed to supporting organizations that make a meaningful difference in the lives of cancer patients. The Save Your Skin Foundation is one such organization whose mission aligns closely with our own. They provide vital assistance to skin cancer patients, addressing critical needs such as uncovered drug therapy, transportation, accommodation, child care, and compensation for lost wages.

Since 2006, the Save Your Skin Foundation has been at the forefront of raising awareness about melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. They are dedicated to education, prevention, enhanced patient care, and providing both emotional and financial support. Their initiatives, including the "I’m Living Proof" program, advocacy for public funding, and Occupational Sun Safety, exemplify their unwavering commitment to combating this disease.

Heal Mary began when our founding team united behind the cancer cause, inspired by our founder Cassandra's personal experience. Cassandra witnessed her sister's journey through an early-stage breast cancer diagnosis, and her mother was already a Stage IV cancer survivor. This profound experience highlighted the need for a better way to discover and enroll in clinical trials.

Our team, having already achieved success by winning Scotiabank's Financial Hackathon in 2016, came together to develop an application to streamline the process of finding clinical trials worldwide. After a year of intensive research and interviews with patients, caregivers, and doctors, we created and released our MVP.

This is just the beginning of what Heal Mary will achieve in easing the burden of clinical trial recruitment. Welcome to Heal Mary. We are ready to embark on this journey with you and your loved ones.
